Jerome is a member of the Dispute Resolution Team specialising in a wide variety of litigation having built up over ten years of experience at previous local law firms.

Jerome is experienced in complex contractual and commercial dispute work, partnership and shareholder disputes, professional negligence claims, intellectual property disputes, Chancery division matters, contentious probate, many aspects of property litigation, and debt recovery and contentious insolvency. Jerome has acted for a broad cross section of client industries and has represented them as both claimant and defendant.

Outside of work Jerome likes keeping fit by playing cricket for his village and running around after his young family. When he has time he loves the great outdoors including hiking, cycling and travelling abroad whenever possible.

Career

Jerome trained in a London Law firm qualifying in 2010 and joined Stephen Rimmer Solicitors in 2022 coming from a local regional firm where he had spent the last ten years.

Recent cases include:

Defence of director of an aviation company accused of breaching his fiduciary duties owed to his fellow directors and shareholders and profiting from a competing company. Defence of court claim combined with successfully negotiating a share sale settlement in my client’s favour.

Claim by automobile company against a supplier for breach of express and implied terms of contract. Successful pre-action correspondence resulted in settlement for our client.

Represented the former Chairman of a UK PLC in a multi million pound dispute relating to the mining sector in Indonesia in relation to allegations of breach of fiduciary duties. The matter proceeded to trial in the Commercial Court in London whereby it settled after 10 days in our client’s favour.

Defence of breach of contract claim and recovery of loans paid to a former friend and third party for their business venture. Claim related to mistaken identity and fraudulent signing of documents. Case proceeded to Trial in the London County Court with a successful judgement in clients’ favour.

Represented claimant in a successful ‘phone hacking’ claim agreeing a settlement sum against the company previously known as News Group Newspapers Ltd.
