Adrian Samuel
Adrian Samuel is a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution department at Stephen Rimmer LLP, where he handles a broad spread of contentious work including personal injury, clinical negligence, employment, contentious probate and property disputes such as nuisance, trespass and boundary matters.
With four decades in the profession, Adrian brings a depth of experience that few can match, and clients value his personable, straight-talking and realistic approach.
He sees litigation as a high-risk, costly and often uncomfortable process, so he looks first for practical ways to resolve a dispute, while remaining ready to fight a client's corner robustly when the situation calls for it.
As an accredited civil and commercial mediator, he is well placed to find resolution without the need for a contest wherever possible. What drives Adrian is the satisfaction of bringing a solution to a problem and guiding clients from difficulty through to resolution.
Areas of practice
Adrian advises on a wide range of disputes, spanning personal injury and clinical negligence claims, employment matters, contentious probate, and property-related disputes including nuisance, trespass and boundary disagreements.
Over the course of his career he has acted on claims arising from some of the country's most significant disasters, including Hillsborough, the King's Cross fire and the Zeebrugge ferry disaster. Alongside his litigation practice, Adrian is an accredited mediator with the Civil Mediation Council, and he draws on that training to help parties reach settlement and avoid the expense and uncertainty of court wherever a negotiated outcome can be achieved.
Experience and background
Adrian's career in the law spans 40 years. He began as a trainee legal executive at the former Greater London Council before going on to qualify, and was admitted as a solicitor in 1992. In 2011 he added civil and commercial mediation to his practice, becoming an accredited mediator with the Civil Mediation Council.
Over the decades he has worked across a variety of local and regional firms, building the breadth of contentious experience that defines his practice today. He joined the Dispute Resolution team at Stephen Rimmer LLP in 2026, and is registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Outside the office
Outside of work, Adrian has a great love of musical theatre, and writes, produces and appears in pantomime as well as singing and playing the trombone, with the electric bass his latest project. He is also drawn to the great outdoors, and is an enthusiastic lover of good food and wine.
