Georgia Collingham
Professional overview
Georgia Collingham is a Trainee Solicitor at Stephen Rimmer LLP, currently building her experience across the firm's departments as she works towards qualification.
Strategic and detail-oriented, Georgia has a particular interest in civil litigation, where she is adept at identifying weaknesses in opposing arguments and pursuing her clients' interests firmly while remaining clear, focused and empathetic.
She is motivated above all by achieving the best possible outcomes for the people she acts for, with a strong emphasis on protecting their interests and supporting their success. Before beginning her training contract she spent time as a paralegal in the firm's Civil Litigation department, managing her own caseload, and that early hands-on responsibility continues to shape her practical, results-driven approach.
Georgia combines academic rigour with genuine care for her clients, and brings energy and determination to every matter she works on.
Areas of practice
As a trainee, Georgia is gaining experience across a range of practice areas, with a particular focus on civil litigation.
Georgia completed her first seat in criminal defence, gaining experience in serious sexual offence matters, s.18 GBH cases, complex drug offences and a variety of other criminal proceedings. She then moved into the firm's commercial team, where she handled lease reviews, leasehold and freehold reports, and a broad range of land and property transactions.
She is now completing her final seat in civil litigation, the area in which she first developed her caseload at the firm. Across her seats, Georgia has been involved in a range of complex matters, with notable experience in possession and eviction proceedings, civil fraud and in debt recovery, including helping to secure a favourable mediated settlement in an international debt claim.
Experience and background
Georgia studied at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2024 with an LLB (Hons) in Law and French Law, including a Maitrise en Droit. She is currently undertaking the Legal Practice Course alongside an LLM in Legal Practice at the University of Law, with completion expected in late 2026.
During her studies she undertook pro bono work with the Freedom Law Clinic and the Access to Justice Clinic, providing legal support to underserved communities on matters ranging from criminal conviction appeals to employment, housing and civil litigation. She also currently acts as a legal adviser for Verify Humanity.
Outside the office
Outside of work, Georgia enjoys travelling and attending concerts whenever her studies allow.
She is a supporter of Cats Protection and Cancer Research UK and says that if she were not a lawyer she would likely be working in animal sanctuaries abroad or pursuing a career in musical theatre. The Netherlands, and The Hague in particular, is a favourite destination, while Zanzibar sits at the top of her travel list.
