Associate Solicitor - Dispute Resolution

Dominic Reilly is an Associate Solicitor in the Dispute Resolution team at Stephen Rimmer LLP, advising clients on a broad range of contentious matters including intellectual property, contractual disputes, debt recovery, defamation and alternative dispute resolution.

Dominic offers pragmatic, commercially minded advice, delivered in a friendly and concise way, and he prides himself on building a genuine rapport with the people he acts for.

He understands that a dispute of any kind can be a hugely difficult time for individuals and businesses alike, and he does all he can to guide clients through it, working to resolve matters as efficiently and painlessly as possible.

He is drawn to the variety that litigation brings, with each new case opening a window onto a different sector or industry and a fresh set of challenges to work through. For Dominic, the real reward lies in the positive and meaningful difference good representation can make to a client's personal and commercial life.

Areas of practice

Dominic advises on a wide range of dispute resolution matters, including intellectual property, contractual disputes, debt recovery, defamation and alternative dispute resolution.

He has a particular background in intellectual property, having worked on both contentious and non-contentious matters involving trade marks, passing off, design rights, copyright and patents.

His IP experience spans trade mark prosecution and litigation, the commercial transfer of IP rights in the context of mergers and acquisitions, and the protection of clients' brands online, including on major technology platforms. He has also handled design right disputes and Protected Designation of Origin matters. Across all of his work, Dominic brings a commercial perspective, focusing on the outcome that best serves the client's wider interests.
