Chartered Legal Executive - Private Client

Rebekka Hayles is a Chartered Legal Executive in the Private Client team at Stephen Rimmer LLP, specialising in wills, probate, trusts and Court of Protection work.

Rebekka helps clients through both the legal and the emotional complexities that come with planning for the future and dealing with the loss of a loved one.

She advises individuals, families, business owners and high net worth clients on the preparation of wills, succession planning, inheritance tax and Court of Protection matters.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and a Probate Practitioner, she combines technical expertise with genuine compassion, guiding clients with care through what is often a difficult and sensitive time. Much of her work involves navigating intricate estates and protecting the interests of all those involved, and for Rebekka, supporting clients and their families through these moments is at the heart of what she does.

Areas of practice

Rebekka focuses on private client work, advising on wills, probate, trusts and Court of Protection matters. She manages both straightforward and complex probate estates, overseeing testate and intestate administrations and ensuring that inheritance tax is accurately assessed and handled within statutory timeframes.

Her experience includes navigating complex estates involving agricultural land, property and business assets, where she works to achieve the best outcome for all beneficiaries while keeping matters from becoming contentious.

She also handles Court of Protection work, including deputyship and trustee applications, often in cases involving the sale of property where a co-owner has lost mental capacity. Rebekka advises clients on succession planning and inheritance tax, helping individuals and families put their affairs in order with confidence.

Experience and background

Rebekka began working in law in 2011, gaining her first experience in conveyancing during a legal secretaries course before moving into the wills department and beginning her studies with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.

After several years, she joined a London-based private client firm, where she spent more than six years working closely with financial advisers and experienced lawyers, advising clients on estate planning for both simple and complex matters, including trusts and tax.

During this time, she also completed a six-month secondment as a paralegal in Australia. Rebekka joined Stephen Rimmer LLP in 2022 and has since developed a specialist focus in probate matters. She is a Fellow of CILEX and a Probate Practitioner, and is admitted before the Family, County, High and Coroners' Courts.

Outside the office

Outside of work, Rebekka values quality time with her family, friends and dog, and enjoys reading, music, a glass of wine and travelling to discover new countries and cultures.

She has a keen interest in astrology and astronomy, and keeps active with pilates, spin classes and long walks, having climbed the national three peaks of Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike. Japan is high on her travel list, while a remote island in Hawaii remains her dream destination.
