Steven is a Partner at Stephen Rimmer and joint Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. Steven is a highly experienced and diverse litigator who can deal with a full range of matters, from high value corporate cases to advising individuals. He has acted for clients in high profile matters, including representing household name charities and online businesses.

Steven takes pride in offering a high level, personal service to every client and achieving favourable outcomes under the most challenging circumstances.

Outside of work, Steven has spent the last few years renovating his home, transforming an unloved property into one of which he is extremely proud.

Career

Steven was admitted as a Solicitor in September 2007, having completed his Training Contract with a leading Sussex law firm.

Before completing his Training Contract, Steven was offered a role within that firm, taking over from a Solicitor with many years’ experience.

Steven remained in that role until approached by another Sussex law firm early on in his career, where he then spent many successful years.

Steven joined Stephen Rimmer LLP in 2012 and was made a Partner of the firm in 2014.

Notable cases

Steven has acted in a number of notable cases, including advising one of the largest charities in the UK in a case that was widely reported in the media. The dispute involved the charity vacating two premises in Hertfordshire and service of disrepair claims on the charity by the Council totalling over half-a-million pounds. Through some extremely tactical and hard fought litigation, the case settled with the charity paying just over £32,000.

Steven has also represented one of the UK’s leading Internet gambling companies. Most notably, he headed the litigation in a case that began with an exceptionally damaging television broadcast on ITV, aimed at the company in question. Steven successfully negotiated terms with the company that aired the program and the organisation that had made allegations against the company.
