Kim Joseph-Charles is a Senior Associate Solicitor in our Family Law Department who has practiced family law for nearly thirty years. She is experienced in all aspects of family law which includes divorce and separation and the other consequential fall-out which occurs when a relationship breaks down.
An empathic listener, Kim will always guide her clients gently but honestly along the often, rocky paths of dealing with financial settlements and issues concerning children during divorce and separation.
Kim also deals with applications for parental responsibility made by fathers, applications for specific performance or for prohibited steps orders but will always ensure that the child’s welfare is the prevalent consideration.
Kim handles domestic violence cases, ensuring protection for those of her clients who are abused. Yet she will also battle to ensure that clients who have been accused of being the perpetrator of violence are dealt with fairly within the court process.
Kim will always do what is best for her clients but will also strive to balance this duty with the determined intention to make the process uncomplicated for both parties at an emotionally-charged time.
Kim is always happy to have an initial free 30-minute consultation to discuss problems and how she may help to find the solution.
Kim says: “I love that each day I have the chance to help at least one person to achieve a fair deal and outcome to their situation.”
Outside of work, Kim is a keen singer and musician, playing saxophones, clarinet and piano. She also enjoys sewing, cooking, gardening, writing, reading, 40’s and 50’s musicals, black and white films and jigsaw puzzles.
Kim was admitted as a solicitor in 1992 and joined the Family Law team at Stephen Rimmer in July 2021.
