Kim Joseph-Charles is a solicitor in the Family Law Department who has practiced family law for over twenty years. She is experienced in all aspects of family law which includes divorce and separation and the other consequential fall-out which occurs when a relationship breaks down.
An empathic listener, Kim will always guide her clients gently along the often, rocky paths of financial settlement (covering the family home, income and other family assets) and issues concerning the children, such as who will they live with and how often they be able to see their absent parent. Kim also deals with applications for parental responsibility made by fathers, applications for specific performance or for prohibited steps orders but will always ensure that the child’s welfare is the prevalent consideration.
Kim also handles domestic violence cases, ensuring protection for those of her clients who are abused. Yet she will also battle to ensure that clients who have been accused of being the perpetrator of violence are dealt with fairly within the court process. Kim also deals with both pre-nuptial and post nuptial agreements which offer security and certainty in the unfortunate event that a relationship fails. Kim will always do what is best for her clients but will also strive to balance this duty with the determined intention to make the process uncomplicated for both parties at a time when all is emotionally charged. Kim is always happy to have an initial free 30-minute consultation to discuss problems and how she may help to find the solution.
